Moths/The Stone Eye Split

by MOTHS

Tim Burke This is Moth's half of the split, an original song that shows the band go from a psychedelic intro with a big open feel into a section with soaring vocal lines, then breaks into a heavy angular riff and gets really heavy. Plus a cover of one of my favorite Sabbath songs, Hand of Doom, this is worth your ear. Favorite track: Intervention.

Kirk Gauthier Another excellent EP from Moths. Mariel Viruet sounds like Siouxsie Sioux on these two songs, and “Intervention” is a wild ride of progressive doom. But it’s their cover of Black Sabbath’s “Hand of Doom” that steals the show, taking that song places you never thought it could go. Favorite track: Hand of Doom (Black Sabbath Cover).

Darknight Fabulous split, excellent stoner metal tracks from the glorious MOTHS. Vocalist is just stunning and the beautiful progressive riffs just set the music on fire. Can't wait for a full length album. Oh yeah and great version of a Black Sabbath classic. Favorite track: Intervention.

Intervention 07:31
Intervention: They say ignorance is bliss For all I know, I guess it must be false The way we are I think we’ll never ever know And I ask myself knowingly How much every mistake is worth Pulling this shit over and on and on again Crushing, falling stupidly Encouragement is always you Why keep the hurt for which I have no use As I carry this in me A haunting burden drawn to you The weight of time is overpowering And the morning tangerine sky falls again Go on (Carry on Move on Carry on) And the morning tangerine sky falls again Tick... tock... the goddamn clock never stops Never, forgives the hell we all go through Tick... tock... could we rewind to that day? Go on (Carry on Move on Carry on) And the morning tangerine sky falls again Ever hoping I could have that time again So now care to remind me Of all the times that dullness got to you Keeps me awake to think I should’ve been more Trust me, follow up your instincts They have never failed you before Consider all before you go and pull that plug In the end, that’s all we want? Happiness? But are we ever fit for it When do we stop and let it all slip through What holds, that smile on you is it the thrill of something new? But smiles don’t last you know, I showed you Remember with every move you make The world around you adjusts its pace Remember we are one with the rest Continuous with the sun, and all it touches And in that ocean of stars we crave Our souls will stare into each other’s gaze We’ll see the cosmos that lie ahead But will we choose to just let it go or start again?

Hand of Doom Lyrics What you gonna do Time's caught up with you Now you wait your turn You know there's no return Change your empty rules You join the other fools Turn to something new Now it's killing you First it was the bomb, Vietnam napalm Disillusioning, You push the needle in From life you escape, Reality's black drape Colours in your mind Satisfy your time Oh you, you know you must be blind To do something like this To take the sweet that you don't know You're giving Death a kiss Poor little fool now You're having a good time, baby But that won't last Your mind's all full of things You're living too fast Go out, enjoy yourself Don't bottle it in You need someone to help you Stick the needle in Now you know the scene Your skin starts turning green Your eyes no longer seeing Life's reality It's too late to turn You don't want to learn Price of life is high Now you're gonna die
